Two Groups Advance to State Speech Contest

Two Urbandale High School Groups advanced to the State Speech Competition on February 2, 2013, following this past weekend’s District event.

These groups include:
 

Ensemble Acting

Small groups perform scenes without the use of costumes, sets, or props. The Urbandale group performed a scene from the play Almost, Maine. In the scene, a man meets up with his ex-girlfriend, who is about to get married, but makes a surprising: discovery about himself.

Students participating:  Michael Clinkscales plays Jimmy, Morgan Muell is the waitress, and Quinn Sobek, plays Sandrine.

 

Short Film

Students write, direct, film, and edit a five minute film. The Urbandale Group created a murder mystery, An Evening with the Worthingtons.
