The 138-member Urbandale J-Hawk Marching Band will premier its 2011 halftime show, "Remembering September 11th, 10 Years Later" at the home football game on Friday, August 26, 2011. The program highlights music that depicts scenes of New York City, the emotional events of September 11th, 2001, and the unyielding spirit of New York City - and of America. Narrated by senior Emily Pack with field commanders Ashley Dhainin and Hannah Pettorini, seniors, and Paige Dannenfeldt, sophomore, the J-Hawk Band aims to spark an emotional connection for the audience with the life-changing events of September 11th, 2001 and the memories of those whose lives were forever impacted on that day.
The Marching Band will compete in the Johnston Invitational, Valleyfest, and the State Competition this fall, in addition to an exhibition to conclude the 2011 Urbandale Marching Invitational.
