On Saturday October 6, 2012, the 143-member J-Hawk Marching Band performed at West Des Moines’ Valleyfest contest.  Their performance was inspired by the Dante Alighieri’s epic Poem, Dante’s Inferno.  

Director Myron Peterson, “This season has been rewarding in building a bridge from the written art form to the musical performance art form.  Many students have read Dante’s Inferno and now they’ve told the story through music.”  The J-Hawks improved their finish from a year ago by placing 3^rd place at the Valleyfest competition.
