The J-Hawks open play on March 31, 2012, in the Johnston Invitational against Cedar Rapids Prairie and Cedar Rapids Jefferson.  Coach Johnson noted that:  "This year's squad will have several new faces joining and pushing the returning letterwinners.  Our Substate Final finish last season left the team just one game from the State Tournament, providing plenty of motivation and excitement to build upon."
