Two Urbandale groups competed in the State Speech Competition over the weekend.

Results for the two were:

Ensemble Acting - three (3) Division I Ratings

In this, small groups perform scenes without the use of costumes, sets, or props. The Urbandale group performed a scene from the play Almost, Maine. In the scene, a man meets up with his ex-girlfriend, who is about to get married, but makes a surprising: discovery about himself.

Students participating:  Michael Clinkscales plays Jimmy, Morgan Muell is the waitress, and Quinn Sobek, plays Sandrine.

Short Film - one (1) Division I Rating and two (2) Division II Ratings

In this, students write, direct, film, and edit a five minute film. The Urbandale Group created a murder mystery, An Evening with the Worthingtons.
