Lazard Ties National Record
Urbandale High School Sophomore, Allen Lazard placed his name among national record holders on Friday, Augut 26, 2011, in a victory over DM Hoover. The Urbandale Defensive Back had three interceptions for touchdowns in the first half of the J-Hawks 54-8 victory.
Lazard scored on interception returns of 35 yards and 17 yards, within one minute of each other in the first quarter, and then again on a return of 50 yards in the second quarter.

This feat ties the National Record for High School players with two interceptions returned for a touchdown in the same quarter, according to the NFHS Record Book. Lazard ties 6 others with two interceptions returned for a touchdown in a single quarter.
The Iowa record for most interceptions returned for a touchdown in a season is 4, according to the Des Moines Register's online archive. Jacob Edelman of North Cedar, Stanwood, recorded 4 in 2009.
