Urbandale advanced three wrestlers to the Quarterfinal Round of the State Wrestling Tournament on Thursday at Wells Fargo Arena.
Colby Knight moved to 37-2 defeating Colin Strickland of Southeast Polk, 20-5. Knight will wrestle Spencer Derifield of Waverly Shell Rock on Friday at 9:00am in the 112 lb weight class.
Gabriel Moreno, 38-1 at 145 lbs. won by fall over Tanner Regenwether of Linn Mar. Moreno will square off with Dylan Blackford of Southeast Polk on Friday morning.
Jesse South won by fall over Clinton Richers of Fort Madison. South will wrestle Bud Smith of Southeast Polk on Friday in the 215 lb. match.
Jon Paulson (119 lbs) and Nick Jepsen (189 lbs) were both defeated in their first round match and the first round of wrestling in the consolation bracket.
