The Urbandale J-Hawks (14-21, 5-18) hosted the Sioux City North Stars (23-17) in a IHSAA Class 4A, Substate 1 Quarterfinal matchup at Barton Field. 

Jacob Barnes got the start on the bump for the J-Hawks and started hot by setting the Stars down in order. Trey Hicklin his a two-run homer in the bottom half to get the J-Hawks a 2-0 lead. The Stars then answered with 1 in the third and 4 in the 4th to take the lead 2-5. Urbandale scored a run on a passed ball in the bottom of the 6th to cut the lead to 2. 

Peyton Stewart came in and threw 3 strong innings to keep the J-Hawks in this one. Clayton Renfrew came in for the 7th to hold the Stars at 5. 

The J-Hawks complete their season at 14-22.
