On Saturday, October 26th Urbandale High School had 19 students audition for the Iowa Instrumental All-State Festival. Statewide over 1000 instrumental student-musicians audition and approximately 17% of the candidates are selected to participate in the All-State Music Festival in Ames, Iowa on November 21-23, 2024. It is the highest individual honor a student can receive from the Iowa High School Music Association.
Urbandale students who audition for the Iowa Instrumental All-State undertake a rigorous process of weekly mock auditions, they study with teachers both in and out of school, and they devote many hours to individual practice time. The following 19 Urbandale students are to be commended for their dedicated efforts and outstanding contributions to the Instrumental Music Department.
The performance will be broadcast on Iowa Public Television Thanksgiving Day (Thursday, November 28, 2024) evening and Sunday afternoon, December 1, 2024.
