The J-Hawks boys soccer team earned their first victory of the season in a hard-fought 2-1 win over Cedar Rapids Prairie on Friday. The match was a display of resilience and teamwork, as the J-Hawks bounced back from their tie against Des Moines Hoover to start the season.

It was the J-Hawks who broke the deadlock in the 18th minute when Abe Dinges scored the first goal of the game, which would also be the only goal of the first half. In the second half Will Johnson gave the J-Hawks a 2-0 commanding lead.

Cedar Rapids Prairie responded with intensity, managing to score in the 67th minute. But the J-Hawks didn't let up and continued to control the tempo and game.

Strong defensive play from the J-Hawks helped preserve the lead in the closing moments, securing the team's first win of the season and setting the tone for the rest of their campaign.

The J-Hawks are 1-0-1 to start the year. The boys are back at it on Monday, April 7th as they take on Dowling Catholic at Frerichs Field at 7:30 PM.
