J-Hawks Girls Track & Field Season Recap

J-Hawks Girls Track & Field Season Recap

The J-Hawks Girls Track & Field team has been on a steady climb this season, taking on a competitive slate of meets and showing major strides as they gear up for the postseason push.

The season began indoors with strong efforts at both the Dickinson Relays and the IATC Indoor Championships, where the girls got an early preview of statewide competition. From there, they headed to the Simpson College Invite, gaining valuable experience on a collegiate track.

Next came the road trip finale at the Spartan Invite in Pleasant Valley, before returning home to celebrate their seniors at the Gary DouBrava Invitational—a meet that brought plenty of energy and standout performances.

The schedule didn't ease up, with stops at the Waukee Northwest Girls Relays, a return to the Blue Oval for the Jim Duncan Relays, and then a test at the Jim Duea Relays. One of the highlights of the season came at the Wahawk Invite, where the team put together one of their most complete performances of the year. Most recently, they wrapped up a strong showing at the Dowling Catholic Invite.

Now, all eyes are on the 115th Drake Relays, where the J-Hawks will be proudly represented by their 4x100 Relay team and standout shot put thrower Tatum Johnson—a testament to the talent and depth this group brings to the track.
